Towards the era of quantum computing....

Since the dawn of computing era manufacturers of computer have been searching for a way to develop faster and smarter computers. According to Moore’s law that development is doubling of computing power every 18 months. But in recent time this trend has been slowing down. But researchers all around the world are claiming that they are getting closer and closer to developing a computer that breaks every record of all the computer they have ever built. Yes, the era of quantum computing has begun. Quantum computers use the principles of quantum physics which means they can try all the possible solutions to a problem and choose the most accurate one in a fraction of a millisecond making them both faster and smarter at the same time. These types of computers have been a cool idea since the beginning of the 70s but making a computer that follows the laws of quantum mechanics has been nothing but a painful dream to scientists. One of the main concepts of this is super positioning which means that a particle like an electron can exists in many different theoretical states at the same time but it can only be observed in one state. The reason why developing such computers is so hard is because linking big objects with quantum objects to work together is very hard as both of them follow different laws. But scientists claim that they have sort out some of these problems. Instead of using traditional bits (0 or 1) as a source of storing data quantum computer use photons (qubits). Qubits follow the law of quantum mechanics it means that unlike bits which can only be in either 0 or 1, qubits can be in both states i.e. 0 and 1 at the same time meaning that they can hold a ton of data. The problem with qubits is that they can only be observed in only one state 0 or 1. But scientist have overcome that problem by using a method called indirect observation which means that in about a decade or so we might be able to fully develop a quantum computers.

Chaudary Group (CG) to enter into Telecom sector.

Chaudhary Group, one of the biggest business house of Nepal (popular for electronic products and food/beverages) is all set to enter the telecom market with the brand name CG tel. After acquiring 80 percent Shares of the American company STM Telecommunication Services, CG tel is eager to launch their services within six months. 20 percent share of STM Telecom Sanchar is owned by a Nepali company named AR investment.
STM telecommunication has been running rural telephones in villages of about 50 districts and has the largest PCO network in Nepal under the name "Gramintel". They are also providing services like tele-medicince, international calls, tele-centre in the rural areas, and have a subscriber base of about 5350 (according to NTA latest MIS). STM telecom had also applied for the unified license to NTA (Nepalese Telecommunication Authority) which if they get, allows them to operate different telecom services through a single license, with huge license fee of Rs 377.5 million. Though NTA is examining the applicants for the unified license, the regulatory body won't be able to do the big decision in the absence of their Chairman (whose appointment is stayed by Supreme court) plus there is a case under scrutiny against the unified license.
Chaudhary Group was very keen in investing in the telecom sector from many years but due to unavailability of enough frequency spectrum and huge license fee for new operator, they were mum to wait for amicable time. And this unified license fulfills their awaited desire and will enable them to use many telecom services like GSM, CDMA through a single license.

Nepal Telecom signs a deal for 5.2 Million more GSM lines with Huawei.

Nepal Telecom- the state owned telecom operator has inked a deal with Chinese Vendor Huawei for 5.2 M GSM lines- package A of the 10 Million Mega Project. Nepal Telecom had already signed 4.8 Million GSM project (Package B) for Kathmandu and Western Development Region whose first lot equipments (Core, Bsc, RNC) are already installed and ready to replace the ZTE network.
The contract includes the implementation of 5.2 million GSM lines in Central Development Region (outside Kathmandu), Eastern Development Region, Mid-Western Development Region and Far Western Development Region. Huawei will provide the necessary Equipments (MSC, BSC, RNC, BTS, MGW), roll out the whole network and maintain the KPI (key performance indicators) which is also popularly known as  Managed Service where the Vendor is whole sum responsible for the commissioning of the project.
Nepal Telecom's MD Amar Nath Singh and Huawei's Solution Manager Huang Ihua and Account Manger Roshendra Khadka signed the pact yesterday according to NT.
With the new project, Nepal Telecom intends to extend 3G service to the whole of Nepal and some remote regions may be served with GPRS and Edge which if runs well will be a huge achievement there.

WiMax distribution for general users within a week.

Nepal Telecom's WiMAX is ready to be distributed for general customers but it is known that it will be possible after some days and we have to wait till NT formally announces the date. Previously we have posted a news regarding the launching of WiMax for home users within second week of March but due to some works remaining with the billing and USB Dongle, there is some delay in WiMAX distribution for general users, which is almost solved now.

According to them,it seems like the launching of WiMax for general customers will be made within a week, until the billing gets ready and surplus amount of USB dongle gets available through two outsourced companies. Nepal Telecom has made a deal with two companies Airmax Technology and Unitech Network, which are responsible for the distribution of the internet lines and are ready to open more counters through out. They will be opening 14 counters in Kathmandu alone, of which 4 counters will be made available soon to distribute CPE (Customer Premises Equipment), a.k.a USB dongle and WiMAX service to the customers. The USB dongle will be priced at Rs 5500 and the least data package costs around Rs 650 for 5 GB.

Nepal Telecom intends to provide WiMax and Wi-fi hot spots service through out the country (VDCs and municipalities) within this year 2013. Total Capacity of Wimax lines is known to be 200,000 (2 lakh) subscribers, which will be increased if the demand goes above it.

Some tips to be Self-reliant.....

Although being in a committed, bonded relationship can enrich your life, being attached at the hip, unable to function without each other is simply unhealthy. Those who are independent and self reliant typically survive and function better in society than those who are dependent on others for happiness and sustainability. Taking control of basic tasks and life skills will not only help you stay in control of your own life, but will ultimately contribute to making you a happier person. Hers are some basic tips on how to be self relianet.

1. Learn how to manage money What happens to the individual who puts his/her head in the sand when it comes to finances? Typically the individual who allows someone else to manage the money either ends up in debt or with little financial acumen on how to handle finances should that other person no longer handle the job (due to divorce or death). Here are some tips which you can use to prevent that from happening. Get out of debt. Clear the financial cobwebs by cleaning the decks of all debt. In some cases, carrying a mortgage payment can be favorable to your credit rating, however the burden of credit card debt does nothing but provide you with headaches. Create a plan on how you will pay down those credit cards, which could include transferring balances to a lower interest rate card, re-designing your monthly budget to allocate more funds to credit card payments or consolidating cards into one low, interest rate payment. Pay cash instead of using your credit card. While you pay down your credit cards, resist the urge to add more to your running total. The only way you will get out of debt is to squash the amount you’ve generated in the past. While you are paying down debt, if you don’t have cash to cover the costs, skip the purchase. Own a home. Build credit and equity by owning a piece of property if possible. Search for homes or condos within your budget (meaning you don’t want to purchase a piece of property that exceeds 28% of your monthly income). Live within your means. Create a monthly budget and stick to it. If you don’t know where your money goes each month, go through your living expenses (rent/mortgage, utilities, insurance, taxes) along with how often you eat out, what you buy, gas purchases and entertainment expenses. Seeing the expenses as compared to your monthly income on paper may create more of an awareness about what you can and cannot afford. Keep cash on hand at all times. Make it easier to pay with cash by keeping a stash on hand at all times. However, make sure you keep your cash in a safe spot, where no one could swipe it or end up lost.

2. Cook your own meals. Being your own chef has numerous advantages. In addition to lending to being self sufficient, cooking your own meals allows you to save money and eat more healthfully. Take a class or learn online (or from television). If even walking into the kitchen gives you hives, consider taking a class for beginners at a local community college or follow a chef on one of the food network channels. Several celebrity chefs host shows demonstrating easy recipes that can be replaced by even the most apprehensive chef. Ask a relative for help. Not only can you learn cooking basics, learning to cook from a relative provides a bonding experience where you can practice cooking special, family recipes
possibly handed down from generation to generation. Compare and contrast both the health and economic benefits of eating at home. Determine how much it costs to eat out during the week, versus cooking at home. Do you save money and have you noticed your pants becoming a little looser? Plant a garden. A fun way to harbor independence is to grow your own food. A garden provides an inexpensive and interactive way to produce fruits and vegetables on a seasonal basis, which may also provide higher satisfaction when it comes to eating.
